Buxton Fire Brigade

Your Community

Buxton Fire Brigade is committed to making our local area a safer place to be.

As part of this commitment, we work to help build a more resilient community. Building a resilient community is a partnership, between the Community and government agencies, and requires the Community itself to get involved.

Building safer and more resilient communities is the shared vision for the emergency management sector in Victoria. A resilient community is one that can withstand, adapt to, and recover from adversity, maintaining its structure and functionality while promoting social connectedness and well-being, both in everyday life and during extreme challenges. As such, it is important that people get involved and work with the emergency management sector in preparing, planning, responding to, and recovering from fires and other emergencies.

We participate in a number of activities with a view of achieving this objective and we look to our community to help us. We have a diverse community; in particular it is a mixture of permanent residents, people who work in the area, people who own recreational properties in the area, and people who simply visit on a regular basis to take advantage of our lovely natural environment.

It’s Your Community and we all have a responsibility to help make it a safer place to be.

Some of the work we do is detailed here; we look to you to get involved and work with us.
